STEM is for Everyone
March 11th, 2022
To celebrate Women’s History Month, we’ve planned a super fun series of collaborative events, projects, and of course, our female-powered beer release of Daily Serving: Level Playing Field, all in support of Science Club for Girls!
Based in Cambridge, MA, Science Club for Girls fosters excitement, confidence, and literacy in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics [STEM] for girls and gender-expansive youth in underrepresented communities.
For 27 years, SCFG has offered free programs designed as “clubs” involving activities for grades K-8, junior mentoring and leadership development for high school students, and adult mentoring and role modeling, all run by dedicated women in STEM careers. To promote teamwork, collaboration, and confidence, each curriculum is designed to be interactive and inquiry-driven, with the opportunity to experiment and explore in supportive settings.
“STEM needs to be where kids are — schools and community centers, after-school, and on weekends — and introduced at a young age when they are most curious.” -SCFG
With women making up less than 26% of the STEM workforce, SCFG addresses a critical need. By teaching fun and hands-on learning experiences outside of school, Science Club for Girls has fostered a greater love for learning inside the classroom with 90% of club participants furthering their studies into college, 55% of whom choose to major in STEM sciences.
We encourage you to join us in supporting SCFG in a variety of ways: donate, become a mentor, volunteer, or partner today!
