In January of 2019, we set out to brew the massive pinnacle of our Imperial Coffee Stout lineup, which includes favorites PM Dawn and Night & Day. Utilizing a spectrum of specialty malt and a ten-hour boil, the resulting beer was set to rest in rye whisky barrels where intentional micro-oxidation and intense flavor development have taken place throughout the past 26 months.
Pouring a viscous pitch black, a swirl of Barrel-Aged Endless Night & Day leaves slowly-descending legs on the side of the glass. The aroma is incredibly complex, with depth being uncovered over time as the pour slowly warms. Aromas of a mid-morning coffeehouse, specialty dark chocolate, and whisky-soaked oak make an appearance upfront, before giving way to secondary tones of sticky molasses, fudge, and vanilla cream. BA Endless Night & Day drinks thick and offers a decadent sweetness prior to finishing with a warming alcohol presence and gentle bitterness.
