How many breweries does it take to conceive of a modern-day interpretation on a nearly extinct, yet incredibly complex traditional British Strong Ale closely related to Barleywine and Old Ale? We once again teamed up with our friends at Cloudwater, Other Half, Monkish, and The Veil to brew Threads, a brightly acidic Stock Ale inspired by a rich history of English Brewing. Brewed back in March of 2017, Threads was aged in a variety of barrels including Bourbon, Apple Brandy, Rye, and Maple Bourbon.
Aging a beer in oak can often provide an innate nutty quality, but for Almond Threads, we wanted to amplify that aspect of the beer. Aromas of Amaretto and Montmorency cherry shift to dark chocolate covered fig as the beer warms. A kiss of acidity washes away an incredibly rich and full-bodied beer from the palate with ease, leaving us reaching for the next sip.
STYLE: Stock Ale
ABV: 15.2%
HOPS: CTZ, Centennial, Chinook
MALT: Maris Otter, C-120, Simpson DRC
ADDITIONAL INGREDIENTS: Almond
