First released in 2013 as one of our original recipes, Pot & Kettle is our signature Oatmeal Porter. Throughout the years, we've released many variants - some treated with complementary adjuncts, a bourbon barrel-aged rendition, and even some amplified, imperial takes on the style.
For 2021 Double Pot & Kettle, we've blended four versions of this Imperial Oatmeal Porter. Fresh, non-barrel-aged '21 was thoughtfully combined with harmonious selections of bourbon barrel-aged and fresh oak conditioned '18, '19, and '20. These threads have been in barrels for anywhere from 9-42 months, depending on the vintage. We then conditioned the final blend on Mexican vanilla beans.
Presenting black in the glass, with dark chocolate-colored highlights and a mocha-soaked head, Double Pot & Kettle's aromatics are roasty and decadent. Vanilla-dusted dark chocolate truffle, bourbon-soaked oatmeal raisin cookie, and a well-structured oaky tannin presence make this beer a true delight. The body is light-to-medium and the alcohol remains well-integrated as the glass warms.
