Butler Flats Lighthouse

Our tour of the New England coastline continues with Butler Flats Lighthouse. Like the Harbor Island IPAs, our brewing team's innovative Permutations were the genesis for these beers. With amplified strength, the Lighthouses will continue to showcase specific hops while paying homage to historic New England landmarks.

A trusted guide in New Bedford’s outer harbor at the mouth of the Acushnet River, Butler Flats Lighthouse’ distinctive sparkplug design has allowed it to withstand harsh weather conditions since 1898.

Butler Flats Lighthouse' eponymous beer is a double IPA brewed with Simcoe hops and pours a dark yellow with moderate haze. On the nose a bright orange peel character melds with ripe pineapple leading to a palate rich with flavors of fresh apricots and honeydew melon. A soft mouthfeel and a medium body gives Butler Flats an even balance - it displays a touch of orange blossom honey sweetness with restrained hop character on the finish.
