Bumpkin Island
Nestled in the bay just off the coast, Boston's Harbor Islands are rich with history and intrigue. Each is known for its unique appeal and backstory, with a string of larger narratives tying them together en masse. The Harbor Islands IPA series grew out of the exploration that took place in our Permutation Series, where we developed a new series of IPAs that showcases extraordinary hops, building on our team's experience brewing hoppy beer at Trillium. Bumpkin Island is small yet picturesque, offering great views of the other major harbor islands and the city of Hull. The island was leased to tenant farmers in the colonial period, hosted a fish-drying operation in the early nineteenth century, and a fish smelting operation in the early twentieth century.

Pouring an amber orange hue with moderate haze, Bumpkin Island IPA’s signature Mosaic hop offers a nose rich with aromas of ripe pineapple, lychee, and tangerine. These flavors extend through to the palate with notes of fresh cantaloupe and are underlined by a touch of biscuity malt. Accents of zesty pine provide light balancing bite while a fuller, pillowy mouthfeel lends itself to a soft, smooth finish.
