First released in 2013 as one of our original recipes, Pot & Kettle is our signature Oatmeal Porter. Throughout the years, we've released many variants - some treated with complementary adjuncts, a bourbon barrel-aged rendition, and even some amplified, imperial takes on the style.
Barrel-Aged Double Pot & Kettle is comprised of a blend of Fresh Oak (34%) and Bourbon Barrels (50%) ranging in age from 18 to 30 months, as well as a small portion of a fresh, non-barrel-aged 2020 batch (16%). Select barrels were treated with Mexican Vanilla and allowed to condition for an additional four months on whole beans. The components, themselves spanning over a three year period of meticulous aging, come together in the bottle to form the most elegant take on a Trillium classic and one that we are immensely proud to share with you.
Presenting black in the glass, with dark chocolate-colored highlights and a mocha-soaked head, Barrel-Aged Double Pot & Kettle's aroma is luxurious and well-rounded. Vanilla dusted chocolate truffle, softly-toasted brown sugar, and bourbon-soaked oatmeal raisin cookie are all supported by a delicate, yet structured oak presence. At 14.2%, the body is full and mouth-coating, but the alcohol remains well-integrated as the glass warms and the palate stays cozy, without ever facing fatigue.
