Climb for Climate
April 20th, 2022
Blue Hill Observatory's Earth Day "Climb for Climate" challenge is back for 2022
in partnership with Trillium. The renowned Boston-based brewery and restaurant has expanded to 100 Royall St. in Canton, Mass.—just 2.5 miles from the Observatory. The "Climb for Climate" challenge will take place on Earth Day weekend, Friday, April 22 through Sunday, April 24, from 12pm to 4pm.
Together Blue Hill Observatory and Trillium invite the Greater Boston community to show their support for our environment by climbing Great Blue Hill to the Observatory where climbers will tap a LED counter to join the tally of total climbers. Blue Hill Observatory will be collecting Earth Day testimonials to be shared on social media. Our goal is to encourage as many climbers as possible, so we are offering three exciting incentives.
1. Climbers receive a raffle ticket (at the Observatory) to bring to Trillium for entry in a raffle. Trillium is offering a series of awesome prizes including gift cards, merchandise, and apparel. The raffle drawing will take place on Monday, April 25th and the winners will be contacted by Trillium.
2. Trillium will be donating a portion of the proceeds from pours of Public Garden IPA at their Canton location all weekend. Please note for planning purposes—Trillium's hours of operation are Friday & Saturday, 12pm-10pm and Sunday, 12-9PM.
3. For our young climbers (and older ones, too) Trillium and Blue Hill Observatory
will host kite making and flying activities (weather permitting) with Blue Hill
Observatory's staff and volunteers on the beautiful open field at Trillium. Kite activities at Trillium will take place Friday- Sunday from 2pm to 4pm. Kites will be available for purchase at a very low fee.
We hope you will join us for these fun activities celebrating Earth Day as we work toward building a sustainable future for all.
Parking for the hike is available at at the Blue Hills Ski Area lot and at the lot just north of the Trailside Museum.
